Last week I read about how Judge Merchan initially asked all 96 possible Trump jurors if they couldn’t be fair and impartial, and half were dismissed after indicating they couldn’t. My gut reaction was that I would have been in that group myself.
But with a bit more thought, I realized that, on the hush money issue anyway, I probably could be impartial. I have no idea if the hush money charges are reasonable, either based off the evidence or even from the perspective of the law.
I’m guessing that the defense lawyers would probably disagree, however, after I had the opportunity to look Trump in the eyes and say that even lying, hypocritical, misogynistic, racist, homophobic, ablist, unAmerican, fascist dictator-wannabes who have no respect for the rule of law deserve a fair trial.
