Brian earned his BSEE from Pennsylvania State University and his MSEE from the University of Colorado. He works as an electrical engineer at a Denver-area aerospace firm and has worked in the storage and telecommunications equipment industries in the past.
Brian, along with several others, founded the group blog Scholars & Rogues in April, 2007, and he wrote there almost exclusively from its founding until it was put on indefinite hiatus in April, 2020. At S&R, Brian was the science editor and climate/energy writer and also served as one of the site administrators. Brian now writes essays here at his rejuvenated personal site, The Daedalnexus.
Brian was a member of the Society of Environmental Journalists from March 2008 through January 2016.
Brian has a wife, two children, and two miniature house panthers, Kiki and Jiji. When he’s not working, playing with the family, or writing essays, Brian enjoys reading, watching, and writing science fiction. In addition, Brian enjoys anime, LEGO scale modeling, RPGs, and decorating for Halloween in his “free time.”
