The main characters in Bubblegum Crash are the same as Bubblegum Crisis - The Knight Sabers. Because of thier importance, I have created a Bubblegum Crash page specifically for them. The link above takes you to that page, but if you would like to go directly to one of the Knight Sabers over another, then click on her image.
If you would like more information on the Knight Sabers as they relate to the original series Bubblegum Crisis, please visit the Bubblegum Crisis: The Knight Sabers page.

This Bubblegum Crash page is not devoted to the main characters of the series. It is instead devoted to the secondary characters who play integral roles in the three episodes. Characters like Leon, Colonel Lando, ADAMA, Yuri , and the most important character, the villain of the series. I don't really want to spoil the ending for anyone here in a character page. If you're really interested in who the real villan of the series is, then please visit the correct link below or read the plot synopsis of the final episode, Meltdown.
Leon McNichol: Like Leon in the original Bubblegum Crisis, Leon is one of the AD Police's top officers. Unlike the direction that the AD Police was heading in Crisis, however, Leon is again partnered up with Daley Wong.
Leon is still fighting with his chief, although Todo has been replaced with someone that even Daley can't repect at all, a totally political weasel. Leon is also one of the few officers who really believes in his job and his duty to protect the public. To that end, his overconfidence helps rescue the reputation of the otherwise totally inept and worthless AD Police. Leon also feels that he has to provide a role model for the other officers, even to the point that he might lose, as he does in Illegal Army.
Leon is not the same character that he was in Bubblegum Crisis, however. I can't easily peg down what changed, but where he was at once a force to be reckoned with, overconfident, yet sensitive when he needed to be in Bubblegum Crisis, here the sensitivity seems to have been removed, leaving only the arrogance, overconfidence, and anger.

Seiyuu: Furukawa Toshio
Daley Wong: Daley Wong is the calm and collected half of the Leon/Daley partnership. He's reasonably pragmatic and realistic in his outlook on police work. He tries to act as a mediator between Leon and whoever happens to be the unfortunate target of Leon's ire, but sometimes loses his self-control too. Daley gets frustrated and angry too, but it takes more to force those feelings to the surface than it takes for Leon.
Daley is also the more contemplative member of the team, and he's the one who makes many of the logical jumps that give Leon and Daley thier leads on cases. However, while Daley was a powerful and interesting character in his own right in Bubblegum Crisis, here he is reduced the level of a mere foil for Leon.

Seiyuu: Horiuchi Kenyuu
Colonel Lando: Lando is the head of the Illegal Army mercenary unit. He was presumed dead after his unit was supposedly destroyed during an operation in the Phillippines. He was saved, however, and rebuilt into a Boomeroid, a heavily cybernetically modified and enhanced human being, or alternately a Boomer who is remarkably close to being human (for example, the 33-S Sexaroid from Bubblegum Crash). He is extremely intelligent and is responsible for the other Boomeroids who used to be members of his unit as well.
Colonel Lando and his rebuilt Illegal Army are mind controlled directly by the mystery man in the computers who is searching for all the components of the new AI in Illegal Army. They are also the Knight Sabers' main opponents in that episode.
Seiyuu: Arakawa Taroo
Dr. Haynes: Dr. Haynes was one of Dr. Stingray's original lab assistants before Dr. Stingray was murdered. Following his death, Dr. Haynes swore to carry forwardDr. Stingray's dreams of creating Boomers who could be friends and companions to humanity instead of just servants. Dr. Haynes is murdered by Dr. Yuri in the first several minutes of the Nishimura Tomomichi A.D.A.M.A.: ADAMA is supposedly the first of a new generation of Boomers - more intelligent and personable, capable of carrying on conversations of such complexity that no-one would be able to distingush the Boomer from a human being without detailed tests. In addition, ADAMA contains within it the prototype AI which the Illegal Army was attempting to steal in Illegal Army. ADAMA's body and part of the AI was constructed by Dr. Haynes using the notes left by Dr. Stingray after his death years earlier, but most of the AI which is ADAMA's personality and intelligence (and thus is ADAMA itself) was largely the work of Dr. Haynes.
Seiyuu: Takayama Minami
Dr. Yuri: Dr. Yuri was once a friend and associate of Dr. Haynes and Dr. Stingray, back when Yuri was an assistant for Dr. Stingray. Yuri is bitter about having his dream of continuing the work of Dr. Stingray taken away from him by Dr. Haynes, and in his jealousy and anger, he has Boomers kill Dr. Haynes and the rest of the lab crew. He is quite skilled at designing and constructing the hardware components of Boomers, but has little to no ability to construct a stable, intelligent Boomer AI. He is the main opponent of the Knight Sabers in Geo Climbers.
Seiyuu: Umezu Hideyuki
And The main Villain is.... Well, lets just say that it's a gentleman from one of the prior Bubblegum Crisis episodes. If you really want to know, either skip ahead to the end of Meltdown, or click here to see who it really is.
